History of Ikorodu Division Youth Movement

IKORODU DIVISION YOUTH MOVEMENT is an ADVOCACY movement group of both indigenous and non-indigenous youth across Ikorodu for youth political inclusion, networking, promoting culture, unity and career development.
On 31st of May 2018 President Muhammad Buhari GCFR signed into law NOT TOO YOUNG TO RUN (NTYTR) BIIL. NTYTR is the International youth campaign for young people inclusiveness in the political process and leadership clamor. Ikorodu Division NotTooYoungToRun initiative, it comprises over 400 influential youth across Ikorodu Division. Today, the group has become one of the most active influential youth forum in her five months of existence in Ikorodu. Recently, around June 2018 we carried out a successful project (Ikorodu Division PVC youth mobilization across the Division calling on INEC for decentralization of PVC registration, and today the testimonies is across the Division).
In our bid to achieve our mission and goals as an additional youth mobilizers in Ikorodu Division, we are obliged towards creating networking platforms, re-orientation and building the bridge between the traditional rulers, political actors, the business icons and the youths across the Division with goals of advocating for job opportunity, youth employment, political inclusiveness, address moral vices and support eradication of youth violence within Ikorodu Division.
We propose to organize the FIRST IKORODU DIVISION YOUTH SUMMIT .The aims of the summit are to create an opportunity for physical youth interaction within the Division and discuss matters as related to youth and community development. This will also provide an avenue for career networking for Youths. It will also foster the role of youth in the Division as future leaders while providing frequent opportunities for youths to express ideas and opinions, which will also to create a platform for Ikorodu Division youths to speak about affecting issues.
Furthermore, to converge the stakeholders at an historic place to directly address further current preservation challenges affecting the Youth's unity, unemployment, empowerment, progress in the development of Ikorodu Division. After the summit, youth should have fostered understanding of Ikorodu heritage, history, legacy of our heroes, icons; past and present, recommendations, solution to youth violence, moral and social vices while the outcome shall be discovered and presented as a communiqué for relevant stakeholders for necessary actions.
With our awareness of your passion for youth development in our dear Division, we humbly request join us as committee member to make this historical event a reality for the progress of Youths in Ikorodu Division .
